Ava is an application for Android that improves the accessibility of deaf people or with hearing problems as it can transcribe a conversation in real-time.

An app for the deaf or people with hearing problems

One of the biggest problems for people with hearing problems, whether they are totally deaf or just have lost a significant percentage of their hearing, is trying to follow or participate in a conversation. Ava is an app that aims to mitigate this handicap by offering us real-time speech-to-text transcriptions.

A real-time speech-to-text app

The way it works is as simple as offering real-time voice transcription. So anyone with severe hearing problems can read out the entire conversation on the screen of their Android as it is taking place. The biggest advantage of this application is that it allows us to participate in online group conversations with other users.

The accuracy of the voice identification is quite precise, but we have to keep in mind that it can definitely be quite complicated since the conversations can be a bit informal (and we don't speak and pronounce as if we were dictating) and usually take place in noisy environments .
