The best alternative to Google Play in Lite version

Any Android user who hasn't downloaded all their apps from the official Google Play Store has definitely heard of Aptoide. It is the most popular and used alternative app store that, in addition to all the apps available on the official marketplace, also includes other developments that are banned by Google for legal reasons, such as modified versions of games, applications to download videos from YouTube or even free downloads of applications that we would normally have to pay for.

Now Aptoide has presented an official Lite version of its application that reduces the 20MB of the original APK to just 2MB. Apart from the difference in the size of the application and some new features that we'll talk about below, the liter version of Aptoide offers us exactly the same catalog of applications with the same functions as the original app.

Main features of the Lite version of Aptoide

The following application possibilities show that both versions offer the same advantages and content:

• App Store with millions of APK files that the user can download directly to their smartphone or tablet.
• Built-in search engine to search for applications manually.
• It includes applications that initially require payment but are free to download, such as Rockstars Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and many others.
• It contains thousands of applications only available in Aptoide's catalogue.
• The store shows lists of popular apps, recently added, top apps or apps recommended by Aptoide editors.
• It allows us, from the Updates tab, to check if we have the latest versions of the apps installed and automatically find those that aren't up to date.
• The Stores tab allows us to add app repositories created by third parties.

Differences between Aptoide and Aptoide Lite

As already mentioned, the main difference between both applications is that the Lite version is less than 2 MB. Although the catalog of applications that can be downloaded is exactly the same as the features and lists in the store. However, there are certain modifications that allow for this difference in required storage space.

The biggest difference at first glance is its interface. The original store shows us a much more neat design, in a characteristic shade of orange, with high quality images and videos, really complete data sheets with lots of information, much more visual, with download and transition animations. On the contrary, Aptoide Lite is blue and keeps everything very simple.

For all these reasons, this lightweight version is perfect when we have an Android device that is getting old, needs some help with heavy graphics and likes to save as much memory as possible.
