foobar2000 is a sound player for Android devices with a really straightforward and minimalist design that allows you to play local and online audio files.

Simple and minimalist audio player for Android

Online music streaming services like Spotify, Deezer or Apple Music have radically changed music consumption habits, just as MP3 did with Napster and other P2P apps over two decades ago. However, there are still those who, like an unyielding French village, continue to listen to music from their locally stored audio files. For them there is foobar2000.

An old acquaintance adapted to Android

This is the mobile version of the already legendary PC audio player, which chimed in with other old glory like Winamp at the time. A simple and minimalistic interface to keep the device's resources to a minimum while offering the best possible user experience, with nothing more or less than what is needed to enjoy the music library.

Most of the options that we find in the desktop version of the player are also available in Android, where the following stand out:

  • Multiple audio format support: MP3, MP4, AAC, Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, WavPack, AIFF, Musepack...
  • Audio playing in the background.
  • Support for downloading from UPnP online servers.
  • Various skins.
  • There is an option to play music from a local file or connect to online servers.
  • Minimalist design.
