A tricorder for Android

Anyone who has followed the various Star Trek films and series, and the Trekkies in particular, will know what a tricorder is. It is a device capable of scanning data, analyzing it and communicating with other analysis and scanning applications.

Well, if you've ever wanted to have a tricorder on your Android, now you have the opportunity to download its APK. We're talking about Trycorder, a tool or whatever you want to call it released by F-Droid that replicates that device on our smartphone or tablet.

However, by making the most of the possibilities of modern mobile phones, especially Android, which did not even exist when the famous TV series was conceived, we can perform all these functions:

• It looks, feels and sounds like a United Federation of Planets tricorder.
• Scan your environment: temperature, pressure, light, magnetism, gravity, orientation... or maybe not, but who knows.
• Control the device with voice commands.
• Take photos and record videos of everything you encounter on the new planets you discover.
• Control your own spaceship remotely.
• Chat with other users from all over the world.
• Check the operations log. View phaser, torpedo, and transport operations on the sensor's screen.
• The application can be used in space if you and your smartphone are ready to travel to space.
