Visualfy is an app for hearing impaired that allows us to receive notifications on our phone visually or by means of vibration patterns instead of sounds.

Visual and sensory notifications on your phone

Audible alerts are used by devices to alert users in many situations. However, people who are deaf or hard of hearing are unable to notice these alarms. For these users, Visualfy was developed, an Android application capable of visual and sensory alerts to warn such people. The app is fully adapted to International Sign Language (LSI).

How Visualfy works

Operation is easy. First, you have to assign a set of colors or vibration patterns to each of the notifications you receive in the device. We mean all kinds of alerts, from WhatsApp status updates to low battery alerts. Once configured, you will no longer miss notifications due to hearing impairment. Also, one of the most interesting things is that you can develop your own vibration pattern with a tool built into the app. You start the recording, tap the display several times and save this special tapping pattern under your own name in order to then assign it to the desired events.

Apps like this really help to integrate groups of people like the deaf into our society and thereby make something fairer. Only the active role we all take in relating to people with physical disabilities such as deafness will enable us to build a better future.
