Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the second part of the excellent tower defense strategy game in which you have to protect your garden against a zombie invasion

At first glance, tower defense strategy games could be seen as pretty boring: waves of enemies are coming to conquer your territory and you have to protect yourself however you can. But that's not quite the case, because they really resemble real-time strategy games, with the only difference being that your combat strategy is always defensive.

One of the best games in this genre to come out in recent years has a rather peculiar plot: you're at home minding your own business when suddenly a zombie invasion erupts, putting your life in danger. The only way to save yourself is to use your garden, where you will plant a variety of deadly vegetables, capable of shooting seeds as if they were bullets, and using other weapons and ammunition.

We're talking about plants vs zombies as you probably imagined, a game that was so successful that it also led to versions for Android, iPhone, PS4, Xbox and Windows PC, as well as new editions of the likes of Heroes, Garden Warfare or this Plants vs. Zombies 2, the second part for Android smartphones and tablets.

New features and challenges

Considering the dozens of zombies and levels present in the first game of this saga, in this title we will find new species of plants to grow and new enemies to kill with our vegetables:

• Sunflowers and pea shoots are now joined by new species such as lava guavas and laser beans.
• New Zombies: Jetpack Zombie, Mermaid Goblin, and Zombie Chickens.
• Earn seed packs as you play to feed your plants.
• Get boosters to attack with more energy or increase your defense.
• Travel in time and space to 11 different worlds such as ancient Egypt or the future.
• Over 300 levels.
• Daily challenges and events.
• mini games.

The game is free to download, but it contains in-app purchases that allow you to upgrade your gear and get other benefits like speeding up the growth of your crops. This is what we might consider the full version.

In turn, we can also get hold of mods that will allow us to modify and customize the game to give it a different aspect or look. One of them, for example, transforms the game's settings into an environment that could well belong to the world of Minecraft.
