Tap, Tap lets the user configure different shortcuts, actions, and gestures from the back of the phone such as turning on the flashlight or opening an app.

Add gestures and shortcuts to your smartphone

Tap, Tap is an interesting app developed for the Google Pixel but works on any device with a gyroscope and an accelerometer. It's a service that lets you add or improve on the double-tap on the back, common on the giant's smartphones, to create gestures and shortcuts.

Kieron Quinn, the developer, has been able to improve his system since the first version, multiplying the number of compatible actions, offering a much cleaner interface and improving energy consumption, to obtain a very useful and practically unique application.

What actions can you configure with Tap, Tap?

With a simple configuration through the user interface, the user can create shortcuts to perform actions such as the following:

  • access to the camera.
  • Start an application.
  • Simulates a tap in the phone's quick settings.
  • Run a Tasker task.
  • Allows actions for double or even triple backtapping.

You can also add exceptions to limit the service's operation and disable the backward gesture when certain conditions are met.
