WaveUp is an application which takes advantage of the smartphone proximity sensor to allow the screen to be unlocked without having to press any buttons.

Unlock your phone without pressing a button

Most of us frequently unlock our phones whenever we want to see what time it is or when we get a new notification (especially those that don't activate light or sound signals). So that we don't have to press buttons every time we want to check something, we can download WaveUp.

Unlock your phone without even touching it

This application uses the cell phone's proximity sensor to allow users to unlock their phones without touching any buttons. Users will find a full settings menu to enable this unlocking mode, called Wave mode, as well as Pocket mode, which opens the screen automatically when taking the device out of your pocket or wallet. You can also turn it off at any time to avoid accidental or unwanted unlocking.

In the meantime, this application allows turning off the screen by covering the proximity sensor for a certain period of time, a mode that can be set to always be on by default. By the way: This sensor is located on top of the device, near the speaker for listening to conversations.
