Pandora is an online music streaming service available for Android devices that offers us a listening experience based on the song's structure and genome.

Pandora is one of the longest-lived online music platforms on the web. It was created in 2000 and is based on a project called The Music Genome Project. The idea was to classify music based on its melody, rhythm, instruments, orchestration, arrangements, and lyrics.

The latter led to an online project, Pandora Radio, where the user selected a song and automatically generated a radio station with artists matching their choice... it was a great way to discover new songs and it worked anywhere on the world (as opposed to today).

Pandora's name was not chosen at random, but is a correct reference to the box that contained all the evils of the world in Greek mythology. The thing is, with this application, once you've searched for a song you like, you might end up opening Pandora's jukebox and discovering bands and songs you'd never heard of.

Directly competing with Spotify and Apple Music (without being exactly the same) on Android and iPhone, this service offers us a customized user experience and is able to evolve according to your tastes. All you have to do is specify your favorite artists, songs or genres to generate playlists and radio stations.

The fact is that in the free version of Pandora you'll be able to list to music with ads as usual, but with the Pro or Premium version you'll have more control. Not only because you can get rid of the ads, but also because you can create your own lists and listen to them offline without an internet connection: choose your playlist, album or song and download it even if you don't have WiFi or have data.

There are three types of plans: Pandora Free, Plus, and Premium. The following features can be found in the most expensive of the three plans. In other words, the full functionality of what this application has to offer:

• Search and play your favorite songs.
• Create your own playlists or let the app generate them automatically.
• Download and listen to music from within the application even when you are offline.
• Go forward or play a song in an endless loop.
• High quality audio.
• Compatible with Android Wear devices.

The only downside is that if you live outside of the US, New Zealand, or Australia, even if you manage to get your hands on the APK, you won't be able to use the app. If you search for Pandora in Google Play, you'll even get other apps back like Spotify or Shazam if you don't live in one of these three countries.
