SkyView is an app for astronomy enthusiasts! To use it, point your phone in any direction and discover the stars and other elements of the known universe

App for observing the sky and stars

Astronomy enthusiasts have a whole new vein in their phones. To apps of the likes of Star Map, Stellarium or SkySafari we still have to add SkyView, which, with the help of augmented reality, can show constellations, planets, galaxies, stars or artificial satellites that populate the universe as far as mankind knows.

The whole universe fits on a cell phone

After granting the appropriate permissions such as camera or geolocation, this app can find out which stars are in the sky at that moment. Actually in every direction, because the earth is known to be not flat. All you have to do is point the device in the desired direction and it will display real-time information about the celestial bodies in that direction.

The app is useful for satisfying your curiosity on a starry night, but also for finding out which stars are in the sky during the day or what can be seen in the sky from another part of the world. And these are its main features:

  • Observation and identification of galaxies, stars, constellations, planets and satellites simply by pointing the phone in the desired direction.
  • Augmented Reality: Identification of celestial bodies day and night.
  • You can choose a dark or transparent background so you can see everything around you.
  • Sky Roads option that allows you to follow any object in the sky to see its exact position in the sky.
  • Function to see the exact position of a star on a specific date.
  • Advanced search engine.
  • You can share the pictures you take with the contacts in your address book.
