Fortnite is the most successful multiplayer online shooter which adapts to Android smartphones and tablets too after having swept all other platforms.

The Android version of the Battle Royale game par excellence

With 90 million returning players and over 250 million registered accounts, Fortnite really needs no further introduction. As we all know, this is one of the most popular battle royale games for gamers released by Epic Games in 2017. What stands out most is its cartoon-style graphics and the possibility of building all kinds of structures to defend yourself and interact with during the game.

Although it was just an ordinary battle royale at the beginning, it now has two more main game modes, in addition to the variants depending on whether you play solo, in a duo or in a squad. Below we explain what each mode means.

game modes

  • battle royale The player competes in games with up to a hundred players, either solo, in pairs or in squads. The battle begins after flying a kite from a flying bus over an island and the goal is to find the weapons, items and ammo needed to defend yourself and attack the other players. The game is divided into rounds to reduce the available playing area after each round. The last player alive wins the game.
  • Save the world. This is a version of the game with a more cooperative component. After a storm that wiped out most of the planet's population, the few human survivors must gather resources, hole up, and eliminate the terrifying beings that have appeared to wipe them out - monsters that look like shadows or zombies. Here, the main goal of the player is to carry out various missions in squads, i.e. in teams of four: build bases, rescue innocents, defend key points, set traps, etc.
  • creative mode. In this mode, the imagination sets the limit, or almost. This is a mode in which the player has much more freedom and can create and build his own island with hundreds of elements and above all with his own rules. In it you can play and invite friends and keep the server active for up to four hours at a time.

In addition to these three main modes, Epic recently added a game patio where beginners or those who want to practice certain complicated constructions can experiment in a scenario with more materials and objects without fear of dying.

Success is based on constant updating and hype

And how does a game with so much competition (starting with the huge PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or PUBG or Garena Free Fire) manage to maintain such success after such a long time? Quite simply: because Epic Games has known how to hold the players' attention by presenting every two months a new season and several chapters, each with a different story: from the beginning, to the arrival of a giant comet, the rocket that changed everything, the crash of the world, the revival of darkness, the glacier or The Future is yours, among other examples.

Each season offers a new story, completely new scenarios, different skins and characters, weapons and everything you need to create a completely new experience. Also, there have been special events throughout the seasons where you could play with skins and heroes like Iron Man, Harley Queen, Thanos, Deadpool, Kratos, The Mandalorian and many others, which only adds to the hype.

And of course, if you want to enjoy the full experience, you'll have to get yourself a Season Pass (the free access only allows access to the Battle Royale mode with no add-ons).
