In the search for new teaching and learning methods, one has figured out how to incorporate games into them. An example of this is Kahoot!, which after working as an online service is now also available on tablets and smartphones.

What is Kahoot! for Android and how does it work?

It is a platform that brings together teachers and students, encouraging the latter to research, create and share knowledge in a social way. It allows the creation of debates, polls and competitions.

Although communication is only possible in one direction, namely that the teacher asks questions and the students answer, the system is much more flexible: it aims to give the students the opportunity to ask questions so that everyone can clear their doubts.

In terms of how it works, students don't need to log in, they just get access with a PIN code provided by the teacher. A typical process within this application could look like this:

• The teacher introduces a topic.
• Students are asked to create their own questionnaire on this topic.
• The educator evaluates both the quality and appropriateness of the questions and their answers.

This app brings a learning support that is gradually spreading all over the world and can now be found in many different primary and secondary schools in numerous countries.

In terms of features and capabilities, here are some of the features available:

• Assignment of homework based on games.
• Take part in quests and challenge other classmates.
• Participate in single player trivia games.
• Participate in group games that can be managed by both students and teachers.

As you can see, the aim is to deepen and consolidate the material taught in school, with the competition provided by the games as an incentive.
