The Creative Mobile Games Studio offers us a very interesting contribution that will immerse us in a world very similar to that described by George Orwell in his book 1984. Our task in this adventure game will be to become a bouncer in a desolate building. But with the job comes a heavy burden.

The fine line between duty and morality

Beholder's story takes place in a totalitarian state where every aspect of public and private life is monitored. Repressive laws mix with total surveillance and the eradication of privacy.

One day the state calls us to offer us a job with a property manager to turn it into an idyllic place to live. We need the money badly, so we don't think twice, pack our bags and show up at the building with our family... only to watch as they handcuff our predecessor away.

It turns out that the doorman's job is just a cover for our real mission: monitoring our tenants' private lives without their knowledge. In order to do that, we have to sneak into their homes, snoop through their belongings, set up security cameras... All to report on the person in case they pose a threat to the state.

However, we will have free will to choose the kind of person we want to be. Will we report any suspicious activity or conspire against the authorities? Will we blackmail our neighbors or give them a chance to redeem themselves? Will you risk your life to save her?

In other words, we will have to make decisions and accept their consequences. In this way, the plot plays with our sense of morality and our feelings that will lead us down one path or another. The ending of the story will of course also change depending on how we choose to act.

Also, each character has a fully developed personality and past that we can unveil. It's a game of great depth that will make us uncomfortable and awe-inspiring in equal measure.
