Netflix invites us to join an epic adventure in Arcanium: Rise of Akhan, a strategic game application where you must collect cards in order to fight.

We already know that Netflix likes to bet on nostalgia. Maybe that's why they're giving us a card RPG that's very reminiscent of Magic: The Gathering. This time, they lead us by the hand into a heroic fantasy world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, where good and evil, technology and magic mingle and collide.

Magic, technology and strategy

Arcanium: Rise of Akhan is a spectacular roguelike card game with strategic RPG touches and very nice 2D graphics. Here we must collect cards to defeat Akham and prevent the destruction of the world of Arzu.

The mechanics may seem a bit convoluted at first, but the controls are actually quite simple. However, the APK download includes a step-by-step guide to learn how to play.

Basically, you move through the stages by going from square to square. In each of them, an event awaits us, such as a battle, a new warrior, or training.

The most interesting part of this title is the turn-based combat. In order to fight, we must play the available cards of each hero on our turn. Each card has a price, so we have to choose them strategically. At the end of the battle we get a new ability for one of our heroes.

All in all, it's a cool and interesting title that, without being too original, is entertaining and fun, and also looks very pretty. Plus, it's free, ad-free, and purchase-free... but only for Netflix subscribers.
