Uber Lite for Android is the lightweight version of Uber that operates in emerging economies that's capable of working in areas with low-quality connections.

Uber, the most popular alternative to the traditional taxis, now offers us its own application dedicated to emerging countries with connections and devices that are not as advanced as in the first world countries. Called Uber Lite, it consumes less resources and data on our smartphone, making it very suitable for areas with low connectivity.

Uber made easier than ever

Using it is as easy as ever, as we only need to take 4 steps to book a ride with any of the Uber drivers available in our area:

1. Step 1: Open the application.
2. Step 2: Confirm our location and indicate our destination.
3. Step 3: Choose the type of vehicle you want.
4. Step 4: Confirm the ride.

Once the ride has been confirmed, you can review exactly the same information you'll find in the full app, with all the details about your ride, including the driver's name, their photo, contact details, vehicle information, distance to our destination, and the estimated time of arrival.

For the time being, Uber Lite is available in countries like India, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina or Chile. That's basically because it's really important to expand the collaborative economy of all those rental car companies that are behind mutual funds and multinationals.
