SketchAR is a service aimed at helping users learn to draw by projecting virtual images onto the sheet of paper through the use of augmented reality.

Learn to paint with augmented reality

If you've always wanted to learn how to draw properly but never had the time or you have the artistic skills of a brick, you can try new methods like this app for Android: SketchAR.

This app uses augmented reality to show its users how to draw properly (but it sure doesn't help me...). In addition, it is also useful for professional artists, since it allows them to draw the sketches of their works directly on the surface that interests them: a wall, on paper, on a canvas, etc.

main properties

  • The user gets free access to drawings or pays for drawing courses at the level they need.
  • You can learn how to get animals, graffiti, portraits, hands or techniques of certain artists right.
  • All you have to do is connect to AR and focus on the piece of paper or surface to see the design you want on it.
  • Drawing tools are also included in the app to be able to draw directly digitally: pencil, marker or brush.
  • The drawings available are grouped into fun categories: Cars, Vegetables, Food, Flowers, Feathers, Dinosaurs, Reptiles, etc. There's even the Grinch!

Only with this app one can draw on surfaces in folio size or A5 size. If you want to draw on walls or canvases, you need ARKit.

Requirements and further information:

  • Minimum operating system requirements: Android 5.0.
  • The app offers in-app purchases.
