TikTok's version of WhatsApp

Although WhatsApp is still the king of instant messaging and chat applications and has surpassed one billion active users worldwide, it has many competitors. In addition to Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Viber, Kik, LINE or WeChat should be mentioned here. But now a new player is coming from China, and not just any old app: Flipchat, developed by the guys behind TikTok.

Flipchat or Feiliao, TikTok's messaging app

The short video social network that surprised us all with a platform that many others have tried to copy has now released its own application for chatting on Android. It's called Feiliao in China and will likely reach many more countries like TikTok did back then. Despite the growing competition for WhatsApp and the many alternatives available, it's still the most used messaging app in the world.

With this application, users can exchange messages with the rest of their contacts, as well as send files, send voice notes, enhance images on the fly, create user profiles like in a social network... in other words, just like in any modern messaging application.

• Minimum operating system requirements: Android 5.0.
• Installing the app using the APK file requires enabling the "Unknown Sources" option in Settings > Applications.
