FireChat is an instant messaging and chat application that allows you to communicate without an Internet access by creating a network between the devices.

Don't be fooled: if we consider user base and ease of use, WhatsApp is probably the best chat application available. But what happens when we don't have an internet connection or no WiFi network is available? Well, then we can't send or receive messages unless we install FireChat, which works without network access.

How does FireChat, the app for chatting without internet access, work?

It's an application developed for both Android and iOS (not yet for PC, so you'll need the APK and an emulator of the likes of BlueStacks or Andy) that offers users the possibility of sending messages without an internet connection . This is done by automatically connecting the phones to each other, creating their own communication network.

It creates a so-called mesh network that uses Bluetooth and P2P WiFi connections between connected devices that are no further than 70 meters away. In this way, all sent messages and data will bounce from one phone to another until they reach their recipient.

And although it is a very fast system for sending and delivering messages, we have to admit that under normal conditions it is not optimal. In other words, with an internet connection, your messages will arrive sooner, but we can certainly find situations where it's useful: in places crowded with people who can't receive messages, on a boat, on an airplane... In these cases FireChat could be interesting.

However, FireChat features are not limited to just messaging and chatting. We can also use the other functions:

• Send messages and photos to anyone near you.
• Send private, encrypted messages that only you and the recipient can read.
• Create chat rooms to talk about any topic and involve all users of this service.
• Use hashtags in your messages to automatically create new chat rooms.
• Access the most popular messages from public conversations.
• The Nearby feature allows you to join conversations between nearby users.
