Corona Warn App is the application developed by the Robert Koch Institute for the Federal Republic of Germany in order to monitor COVID-19 infections.

The Robert Koch Institute's app to track the spread of the coronavirus

One of the most advertised apps to fight the corona virus is that of the German federal government. We are talking about the Corona Warn App, developed by the Robert Koch Institute, which serves as a tracking resource for possible infections.

Track infections anonymously and break the chain of infection

The app acts as a tracker to determine who a person infected with COVID-19 may have been in contact with. This is done via Bluetooth and the exchange of random codes between devices that have the app activated. The random codes are stored for 14 days, the incubation period for the virus, and then deleted. Only when a person voluntarily reports being infected will all people who have exchanged codes with that person receive an alert. This tracking is important to break the chains of infection at an early stage.

Privacy is one of the main concerns of many users. However, the app does not store any data and nobody knows who or where a person could have been infected. In addition, the app reminds people to comply with basic hygiene measures and the distance rule.
