The AFWall+ application is an open-source firewall for Android that will help us protect our devices from external threats and all the nasty stuff out there.

Just as we protect our computers from external threats and viruses, so should we with our mobile devices. With this tool we can protect our Android with a strong firewall.

Monitor the apps connected to the internet

AFWall is a firewall that protects Android devices and blocks unauthorized access to the Internet. It's completely free, but we must have downloaded the APK file and have rooted our device.

From the main menu we can configure access to all the apps installed on the device. In this way, we can restrict access to data networks and control data traffic with just a few steps.

This is an open-source tool with tons of settings, including experimentation options. But we need certain expertise before we can try these, so nothing goes wrong.

To use this tool we must open the options menu and activate it, although this requires rooting (common for mobile firewall applications). So it's not enough to launch an app and tap any button, but if we have a rooted device then this application is a piece of cake.
