Gab is the app for a social network which states that it's defending individual freedom of expression through the free uncensored traffic of information.

An uncensored social network

The far-right's message deliberately confuses freedom of expression with freedom to voice ideas that violate the individual freedoms of others. And when homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, and hateful messages in general are censored, she is appealing to that misunderstood freedom of expression. In fact, her followers, who are hardly supporters of free speech in general, weep like children when asked to obey the law.

A social network used by fascists

The fascists have recently become very adept at appropriating terms like the above, or politically incorrect ones, to try to cover up this uncomfortable reality: they glorify hatred and spread messages about it. So since it's common on social networks like Facebook or Twitter to have their accounts banned or posts deleted, they've been looking for a place to spit out all their abnormal thoughts. In Gab they have found a place where they can do just that.

This is a social network whose developers claim it's a place for free conversation (in fact, it's a place for spouting nonsense without being written off). It works similar to Twitter, although posts can be up to 500 characters long. And in reality anyone who wants to join can join, but a good chunk of users are geared towards spreading the ideas of Trump or right-wing parties like Vox. In short...
