ZEPETO is the application for Android smartphones based on the social platform on which its users communicate by means of the avatars that they've created.

Create your avatar and meet other users

In order to be able to build a successful social network from scratch, it is necessary to offer something other than the classic functions of Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. And that's exactly what ZEPETO is trying to do, where its users can communicate with others using three-dimensional avatars based on their own photos, thanks to the app's powerful facial recognition system.

Create your avatar and interact with other users

How it works is as simple as taking a selfie or using a photo from our gallery to instantly turn it into an emoji. From there we can customize its aspect, but we want to create an environment where we introduce ourselves to the rest of the users. The only limit is our imagination. We can send greetings, decorate our virtual home with plants and furniture, and even participate in daily quests.

And the rest is similar to classic chat apps. In other words, we can visit different chat rooms, access other users' profiles, follow them, exchange messages... The influence of apps of the likes of The Sims or SecondLife is evident, so if you like this type of simulation game and are a fan from social networks, download the APK now and register as a user.

A social network surrounded by controversy

This social network, created by the same developers of the instant messaging app SNOW, has quickly gone viral and it's not surprising that their 3D avatars are used in other messaging apps and social networks. However, it has gotten into a lot of controversy lately. A rumor has spread across the internet that ZEPETO has been tracking and monitoring its users via the camera and microphone of their mobile devices (very similar to Talking Tom Cat's eyes). It's all sourced from multiple Twitter accounts that pointed out that if you held the phone to your ear while the application was running, you could hear a strange noise, sometimes static and sometimes a beep.

Because of this scam (it is already proven that ZEPETO does not spy on anyone), thousands of users have started to uninstall the app from their smartphones and tablets, which increases the credibility of this unfounded rumor, since this noise is present in every application that uses our microphone , is common. Don't worry, it's not a type of tracker.
